Highly rated import Port Guillaume has been withdrawn from next week’s 2020 Caulfield Cup, due to a veterinary examination.

Lindsay Park Racing released a statement via twitter confirming the news, saying:

“As is the case for all horses under the care of Lindsay Park, Port Guillaume’s welfare is our top priority and we will be performing further diagnostic testing to determine the colt’s prognosis.

“This is very disappointing for owner and loyal client Edmond Lee, however, we are looking forward to tackling the future with what is a very progressive and exciting horse.”

Port Guillaume was a $15 chance in the Caulfield Cup, and is guaranteed a start in the Melbourne Cup if he is passed fit, where he is currently a $34 chance.
