Superstar kiwi mare Melody Belle has touched down in Melbourne ahead of her hit-and-run attempt at the 2020 Mackinnon Stakes.

The 12-time Group 1 winner had two underwhelming runs in Sydney earlier in the spring, prompting connections to bring her back home to New Zealand, where she promptly won back-to-back Group 1s.

Melody Belle finished runner up in last year’s Mackinnon Stakes after coming from near last and roaring home, and will be looking to go one better this year.

Melody Belle is currently on the second line of betting for the Mackinnon Stakes, at $5.
