Only one slot in The Everest remains to be filled after James Harron Bloodstock secured Premiere Stakes winner Libertini to represent them in Australia’s richest race.

Connections of Libertini were courted by both the bloodstock agency and Chris Waller Racing after the mare resumed with a brilliant victory at Randwick on Saturday.

But it was James Harron who got the deal done, locking in the Gerry Harvey and John Singleton-owned four-year-old.

“It was an anxious few days,” Harron said.

“We were delighted to get her. We all agreed as a group once she crossed the line that she was the one we’d been waiting for.

“Her run on Saturday would win most Everests if she repeated that.”

Regan Bayliss was aboard for the Premiere Stakes win and will ride the Anthony Cummings-trained mare in The Everest at Randwick on Saturday week.

Libertini’s effort to claim the scalps of leading Everest contenders Classique Legend and Nature Strip has propelled her to the fourth line of betting at $7.

Classique Legend was an outright $4.50 favourite with TAB fixed odds on Wednesday, ahead of Gytrash at $5 and Nature Strip at $6.

Chris Waller Racing is the only slot holder yet to announce their Everest representative.
