2020 Cox Plate second favourite Armory has been passed fit to start in Saturday’s $5 million contest.

However, Aidan O’Brien’s other runner under veterinary inspection Magic Wand has been withdrawn from Saturday’s Cox Plate due to lameness in the off fore leg.

With Magic Wand’s withdrawal, it means that emergency Buckhurst will come into the final field, after the Joseph O’Brien runner was controversially left out of the original field.

Armory is currently the $6 equal second favourite, with Buckhurst currently a $41 chance for the Cox Plate.
