Racing Victoria veterinarians completed their inspections of the top 35 runners in the 2020 Melbourne Cup (3200m) Order Of Entry on Friday, to deem their suitability to accept at Saturday’s 4:30pm deadline.

Runners with slight question marks including Steel Prince, Platinum Invador, and Skyward all passed their inspections today and have been deemed suitable to accept, as per a Racing Victoria statement.

The statement read that Oceanex and Warning were re-examined this morning, and were passed fit to accept after improvement in their condition.

“The Mick Price and Michael Kent-trained Oceanex and the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Warning were re-examined this morning and were passed by RV veterinarians after both horses showed signs of improvement.

“Warning will undergo an additional check tomorrow as a precaution.

Chapada, who is 35th in the order of entry, did not pass the vets examination today, and will have to undergo another inspection on Saturday morning.

All runners who line up in Saturday’s Lexus Hotham Handicap (2500m) will be re-examined following the race to deem their fitness ahead of Tuesday’s 2020 Melbourne Cup.
