Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien has entered six horses into quarantine ahead of another Melbourne spring carnival campaign, including 2020 Caulfield Cup and 2020 Melbourne Cup topweight Anthony Van Dyck, according to Racing Victoria.
Paul Bloodworth. Racing Victoria’s General Manager of International and Racing Operations spoke to RSN on Tuesday morning, and confirmed that six O’Brien runners were entering quarantine for possible trips to Melbourne.
European-based horses are required to enter quarantine by Wednesday September 16th, ahead of travelling to Melbourne on October 2nd, meaning they will be free to run on Caulfield Cup day on October 17th.
As always, there will be a buzz surrounding the internationals, especially topweight Anthony Van Dyck, who knocked off Stradivarius last Saturday.
Watch: Anthony Van Dyck outlast Stradivarius in his most recent outing.
